Learning objectives
At the end of the session, the trainee will be able to:
- Collect the donor details and donor blood sample.
- Employ safe and sterile measures to store the donor eye and blood.
- Document the received eye in their respective registers.
About this course
Eye Donation is a noble deed, every donor eye must be
treated with respect and preserved carefully for usage. The hospital does not
know when a donor eye ball will be received by the hospital, If during the day,
the eye bank may take the responsibility to receive. But during the night or
after office hours, the paramedic in the inpatient will be responsible to
receive the eye. So this session will
teach the ophthalmic paramedic the method of receiving the eye.
