Learning objectives

At the end of the session, the trainee will be able to:

• Describe Duochrome test and its purpose.
• Describe the Binocular balancing test and its purpose.
• Explain the method of measuring monocular spherical end point.
• Explain the method of Near vision test & IPD Measurement.
• Explain the prescription writing.

About this course

The subjective refraction depends mainly on the patient’s response. However, the ophthalmic assistant should clearly provide instructions and keep on tracking the patient’s performance by asking questions. This session is segmented into 3 parts for the ophthalmic paramedic to understand the concept and method of performing the subjective refraction.
